JACL’s 96th Annual
Banquet & Scholarship Fundraiser
Food and Social Justice
Friday, September 7, 2018
Doors open at 6:00pm, event begins at 6:30pm
This year, our event, “Food and Social Justice” will look at the role of food in creating an equitable future for Asian Pacific Islanders and beyond. Food is an important part of our identity as Japanese Americans, and as Seattleites of any background. We will honor nonprofits that are using food to heal and nourish vulnerable people, and tell stories of the legendary restaurants that have been instrumental to feeding, and providing inspiration, for Nikkei people, as well as other communities of color.
We are honored to have this year’s banquet hosted by Keiro Northwest’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, Bridgette Takeuchi.
